Volunteer Spotlight: Maddison Barbarick

The Indiana Region of the American Red Cross would not be able to do what it does for the community without our wonderful volunteers. On this #ThankfulTuesday, we are shining the light on Maddison Barbarick, who has been volunteering since 2020! Maddison is a Disaster Health Services Team Member.

Maddison’s Red Cross story started in 2013, long before she began volunteering. She is a Paramedic and Emergency Room Nurse.

Since starting a career in the medical field, she says she’s felt driven to use her skills and knowledge to help in the Red Cross’s mission to provide aid and deliver hands-on care and education to shelter residents.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Maddison hasn’t had as many chances as she’d like to help with the Red Cross. Regardless, she’ll find time to help with blood drives. She says that in between work life and family life, she aspires to one day be deployed with the Red Cross.

“I am excited to continue to learn and grow within the Red Cross in future years”, Maddison says.

The Red Cross offers training to all volunteers, such as Disaster Preparedness training and Recovery training, as well as many different volunteer paths to fit your interests and schedules. To find volunteer opportunities near you, visit redcross.org/volunteer
