The Indiana Region of the American Red Cross would not be able to do what it does for the community without our wonderful volunteers. On this #ThankfulTuesday, we are shining the light on Krisha Shah, who has been a volunteer since August of 2021. She is currently the West Lafayette Red Cross Club Vice President, and a Volunteer Recruitment Team Member.

Krisha’s journey with the Red Cross began when she and her friends started a Red Cross club at their high school. Alongside getting her peers involved, her love for volunteering inspired her to become a Red Crosser.
With dreams to become a doctor, Krisha knew her work with the Red Cross meant she could interact with people that supported the Red Cross’ goal of cultivating humanity and helping those in need.
She is also a lifeguard, and is first aid and CPR certified by the Red Cross.
Krisha says her experience working with the Red Cross has deeply changed how she looks at the world around her, opening her eyes to the misfortunes people face.
She realized that for how strongly volunteers are needed, it outweighed the amount of actual volunteer aid. By volunteering with the Red Cross, she could be the change that she wanted to see in the world around her.
“My favorite aspect of volunteering is knowing that every hour of work that I put in only helps someone in this world,” says Krisha. “That alone is enough for me.”
