The Indiana Region of the American Red Cross would not be able to do what it does for the community without our wonderful volunteers. On this #ThankfulTuesday, we are shining the light on Aaron Littlejohn and Rachel Davis, who are volunteering as blood donor ambassadors through their connection with Easterseals of Northeast Indiana! Our donor ambassadors help check-in blood donors and assist with snacks and refreshments after donations. These volunteers make donating blood a positive experience, so our donors are excited to donate again.
Why did you become a Red Crosser?
We wanted to become Red Crossers to help make a difference. We wanted to see how we could save the lives of others while also learning new employment skills.
What is your favorite aspect of volunteering?
Our favorite part of volunteering was meeting all the new people!
How has your experience impacted you and others?
Our experience impacted ourselves and others by learning new skills for employment such as customer service, professionalism, and communicating effectively with others in our community. We feel as though we were able to make a big difference in our community right here in Fort Wayne.
