Volunteer Spotlight: Jordi Saunders

May is National Military Appreciation Month, and we would like to thank one of our very own volunteers for both his military and volunteer service. Jordi Saunders has only been a Disaster Action Team volunteer for 18 months and has already made a tremendous impact on his community. Jordi has served the Red Cross as a logistics lead for the Sound the Alarm campaign, as well as assisting with home fire responses, sheltering, and overnight coverage. Jordi served in the Air Force for nine years and currently works at Grissom Air Force Base, just north of Kokomo, IN.

Jordi, originally from England, was looking for a way to get involved in his local community after moving to Indiana and found the Indiana Region of the American Red Cross. After joining the Red Cross, he wasted no time getting involved and began deploying to help with home fires. The commitment to serving others that led Jordi to join the military has helped him become a vital part of the Disaster Action Team with the Red Cross. This month, we at the Red Cross want to thank Jordi, both for his military service and his service to the Red Cross.
