Volunteer Spotlight: Tobias Hill

The Indiana Region of the American Red Cross would not be able to do what it does for the community without our wonderful volunteers. On this #ThankfulTuesday, we are shining the light on Tobias Hill, a CPEP, DAT, and Recovery Team Member & Red Cross intern since May 2022!

The Valparaiso University student became a Red Crosser in pursuit of the “in-person opportunities there are to engage with the world.” Helping others is a passion of Tobias’, and the chance to intern with the Red Cross is fulfilling it. He is currently interning with South Bend Disaster Program Manager Brent Smart.

He credits his favorite aspect of interning with the Red Cross to the people he meets and works with. “It’s that kindness and genuine care that really makes volunteering and working here special,” said Hill.

The Red Cross is supported by the generosity and kindness of its volunteers, and Tobias recognizes the individual passions and bonds between the employees and volunteers that really makes the Red Cross stand out from other organizations.

He attributes his experience with the Red Cross to helping expand his knowledge of the world and the people in it. The Red Cross’ humanitarian aid extends to all people in need near and far, and Tobias is reminded of this with every new person he gets the chance to meet.

We thank Tobias for all that he’s done, and wish him luck with all the amazing opportunities to come his way while interning with the Red Cross.
